This song is about that feeling of being torn between longing for someone and loving where you're from. I grew up in Tennessee (but love it in Texas), so it's so close to my heart. So many people I grew up with would never leave and it's about that tension between love and home. Lots of little nuggets about each state and what it means to love where you're from.
